Welcome to Skagen

Skagen offers unique experiences all year round. In the pedestrian precinct you'll find an exciting choice of specialist shops, whilst at the harbour the red warehouses are fitted out as fishmongers' and restaurants.

Skagen is alive 365 days a year

Skagen’s location means that every year we can lay claim to having the highest number of hours of sunshine, as well as receiving less precipitation than other areas, whether this falls as rain or snow.

The seas that surround us so closely help to maintain positive temperatures, and August, September and October are often a little warmer than the norm.

Spring

May and June are perfect for a lovely short cycling holiday. The region is criss-crossed by good cycle routes and the picturesque landscape provides a perfect invitation for fun and exploration.

The North Sea Trail is described in detail and at several places it’s possible to enjoy fantastic
experiences of the wildlife in the region. Visit, for example, Skagen during May and see the spectacular migrating birds.

Summer

July, August and September are the traditional summer months during which the beaches and the lovely seas can be enjoyed in full.

Due to the geography of the region, you’re always fortunate enough to have a choice of beach with either an onshore or an offshore breeze, whatever the direction of the wind. It’s up to you, the only problem being to choose between no less than 60 km of beaches!
